Founded by Sharon-Ann Phillips, author of Why Me? My Fight for Life from Heartbreak to Hope, our mission is to inspire hope, raise awareness about misdiagnosis, and support others on their journey through cancer and recovery.
Every book sold helps us continue this work — sharing lived experience through talks, writing, and one-to-one support.
Heartbreak to Hope CIC is built on lived experience of cancer, misdiagnosis, and recovery.
Our founder, Sharon-Ann Phillips, has shared her story for nearly a decade to raise awareness and inspire hope through community talks, workshops, and campaigns with leading organisations including Pfizer and GSK.
Together with professionals and others who have lived through cancer or caring roles, our team offers compassion, faith, and understanding to those navigating life-changing illness.
We provide one-to-one consultations, speaking engagements, and workshops that combine practical guidance with emotional support.
Our work helps patients, families, and healthcare professionals understand the impact of serious illness and misdiagnosis. Through lived experience and open conversation, we raise awareness, encourage resilience, and bring hope during life’s most difficult moments.

At Heartbreak to Hope CIC, our mission is to raise cancer awareness about the dangers of medical misdiagnosis, offer hope and guidance to people facing serious illness, and inspire resilience through Sharon Ann Phillips’ personal story.
Through her book, public speaking, and emotional support workshops, we aim to educate, empower, and uplift individuals and their families — promoting early detection, informed decision-making, and emotional well-being.
Every part of our work is grounded in compassion, lived experience, and the belief that hope can grow even in the most difficult circumstances, especially for those affected by misdiagnosis.
At the height of her life, Sharon-Ann Phillips was given just six months to live. What followed was a decade-long battle with multiple cancers, heart failure, and the devastating impact of misdiagnosis.
In Why Me?, Sharon shares her deeply personal journey of faith, resilience, and survival. From the shock of her first diagnosis to the trials of treatment, family loss, and unexpected setbacks, this memoir shines a light on the strength it takes to keep going when the odds are stacked against you.
More than a story of illness, this is a testament to hope. Sharon’s determination to live for her children and grandchildren, along with her belief that every challenge has meaning, offers inspiration to anyone facing adversity. This book also raises crucial cancer awareness and highlights the dangers of misdiagnosis, an issue Sharon now campaigns passionately to change. Additionally, her story encourages the importance of emotional support workshops for individuals grappling with similar challenges.
