Meet Phoebe: The 8 Year Old Raising Hope for Lobular Breast Cancer
8 year old Phoebe is fundraising for Lobular Breast Cancer UK after her nanny Clare was diagnosed. Read her story and learn why breast awareness means more than checking for a lump.
October means something different to me. It was the month I found my lump.
So when Clare got in touch about her granddaughter Phoebe, it stopped me in my tracks.
Just under two years ago, Clare was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer. It's a type that often doesn't form a lump, which makes it hard to spot and easy to miss.
Rather than simply worrying about her nanny, Phoebe decided to do something positive. She sold her own toys, ran a "guess the marshmallows" jar and a World Cup sweepstake, and is now holding a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. She has already raised over £1,300 for Lobular Breast Cancer UK.
She is 8 years old. This is what turning heartbreak into hope looks like.

Lobular breast cancer is a reminder to look for more than a lump. Thickening, a change in shape, dimpling, or anything that feels different for you is worth getting checked. Download our free Know Your Normal guide to learn what to look for.
Thank you, Phoebe. You've inspired all of us.
